Leadership structure

At FBC Ironton, we believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18) and God’s Word our ultimate authority. In agreement with God’s word, we believe that God has ordained human leaders within the church of being pastor led, deacon served and congregationally  governed.

OUR PASTORS

Our pastors seek to lead our church through the ministry and preaching of the Word of God (1 Timothy 3:2; 1 Timothy 5:17). In addition, the pastors seek to shepherd the church, watch over the flock, and minister by visitations, counseling, and care in times of sickness  (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2).

OUR DEACONS

Our deacons serve our church in accordance with God’s Word, as they care for physical needs, strive for the unity of the church, and support the ministry of the church and pastor. (Acts 6:1-7 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13).
