“Re:Gospel” Sermon Series

On March 8th, Lord willing, we will begin a new sermon series entitled: “Re:Gospel — Regarding the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.” The title of this sermon series is sort of a play on words for a few reasons.

First, I use the prefix “Re:” in the sense of “regarding” as your might see in an email subject (“Regarding the Gospel”). But secondly, “re” in the since of redoing something over and over again.

The author Jerry Bridges tells Christians to “preach the gospel to yourself” on a daily basis. That is, the gospel is something we must continually be telling and re-telling ourselves. The gospel isn’t just for non-Christians, but it’s for Christians too. The gospel is not something we believe once, but then forget. The gospel is something we must keep re-telling ourselves as we seek to grow in our love for Jesus.

Finally, when you consider the gospel, there are many words that begin with the prefix “re.” This sermon series is about considering several of these “re” words that point us to the gracious salvation we have in Jesus Christ.

Below, you will find the titles and texts for this upcoming sermon series:
